Kevin Eberly '05 Recognized by President Bush
Kevin Eberly, Melrose Class of 2005, met with President Bush on April 25th in recognition for his volunteer work on behalf of our troops serving in Iraq. Kevin has been active in supporting our troops for the past five years. During his 7th grade year at Melrose, Kevin wrote a poem titled “Soldier” and sent it to President Bush asking him to pass it on to the troops. Bush responded by encouraging Eberly to continue his support of our troops. Since then Kevin continued to write poetry and another work called “Remember Our Fallen Heroes” has been adopted as the official poem of the Armed Forces Memorial Tribute Flag and is read at memorial services in Irag and in the U.S. Eberly also leads various fundraising campaigns and co-founded a non-profit organization aimed at assisting members of our armed forces.
Congratulations go out to Kevin Eberly, a fine young man!
