URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT
As we have continued to monitor the health of our student population, we have reached the point when it is time to try to break the cycle for all the bugs going around. Therefore, The Melrose School will be closed Monday, Nov. 9, and Tuesday, Nov. 10. We already have Nov. 11 off as a national holiday. This gives us a 5-day period to disrupt the chains. Flu is part of the picture, but as stated in the last newsletter, it is not the only part of the picture.
Ancillary results of this decision:
The soccer season is over. The remaining two games are canceled and will not be re-scheduled. (getting too cold and too dark)
The Veterans Lunch on Thursday is canceled.
The lunch menu will continue to track as printed. So next Thursday’s lunch is what is printed for next Thursday.
Finally, the scheduling of new field trips will be very carefully considered. We have curriculum to make sure we complete first.
We do regret the disruption to family plans, but it is the right and safe course of action.
