Title: Thank you Melrose School

Dear Editor:

This letter is meant to express how thankful I am for The Melrose School, in Brewster, NY.

As a Melrose parent, I am, of course, thrilled with the experience my daughter is receiving. However, I’ve come to appreciate Melrose even more for their warm embrace of my niece, Liah.

Liah is from Haiti, and during last January’s earthquake her school was severely damaged, prompting her parents to move to America until it was rebuilt.

During Liah’s time in the states, she stayed with me here in Danbury. Leaving her home country, school, and friends was a very difficult transition for my eight-year-old niece.

That’s why I am so thankful for the Melrose School accepting her into their school. There could not have been a more positive environment for Liah to be in at this point. The Melrose School’s small class sizes and very warm and friendly atmosphere made this an incredible experience for her. It is exactly what she needed.

Thank you, Melrose School, for giving Liah something positive to look back on during this time in her life.
